About me

Hi, I’m Jaime.

I’m from Cartagena, I live in Murcia (Spain) and I teach Technology in secondary school. I’m a mechanical engineer from the Technical University of Cartagena, I have been teaching since 2019 and I became a tenured state-school teacher in 2025.

Over these years I have taught in private academies, in state-funded private schools and, for the last six school years, in public schools. I have taught Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing and, above all, Technology and Digitalization, the subject I care about most and the one this project is devoted to.

Why this project

SoyTecnoTeacher was born from a simple idea: to bring Technology and Engineering closer to students.

Many students see these subjects as something distant, unrelated to their everyday lives. Yet technology is in almost everything around them: their phone, the family car, home appliances, the devices they use every day. We just need to teach them to look at it carefully. When students understand how the things in their hands work, the subject stops being abstract and starts to make practical sense.

What I want to achieve here

  • For me: a tidy place to gather and share the materials I make for my classes — notes, simulators, practical activities and teaching resources.
  • For other teachers: materials ready to use or adapt, which save preparation time.
  • For students and families: clear content, with everyday examples, that helps them see that Technology is neither a distant nor an inaccessible subject.

Manifesto

Educate, don’t ban.

There is a growing tendency today to question Technology and Digitalization because of the way some students use them. I believe that approach is wrong.

Banning access to technology means ignoring a reality that is already part of our students’ lives. A tool is neither good nor bad in itself: what matters is how it is used. If schools give up teaching how to use it, the chances of it being misused multiply.

That is why my approach, both in the classroom and in this project, is to teach the responsible use of technology: to understand it, make the most of it and apply it with good judgment. Artificial intelligence is the latest example, but it won’t be the last.
